Lecturers List

Vesna Dragičević

Group for Agroecology and Cropping Practices, R&D Department, Maize Research Institute, Zemun Polje.

The effects of bio-fertilizer application on grain yield and quality of maize grown in long-term monoculture

Vesna Dragičević is working in the Laboratory of Agrochemistry, Group for Agroecology and Cropping Practices, Maize Research Institute, “Zemun Polje”. Research interest is within the field of mineral nutrition of plants, agrochemistry, biofortificaton, cropping practices and agroecology. She promoted research on cropping practices and systems toward sustainable and regenerative agriculture, with aim to increase crop yield and nutritional quality.

Vincenzo Michele Sellitto

Project Leader Biolchim spa

Living Soil: an extraordinary story of an interconnected agricultural ecosystem

Expert in Microbiology applied in agricultural processes. Responsible for the Microbials project and interaction with biostimulants for Biolchim spa. At the same time prof. ass. at the University of Timisoara (Romania) and member of the Georgofili Academy in Florence.

Vittoria Catara

Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment, University of Catania, Italy

Microbiome-assisted selection of endophytic bacteria for the sustainable cultivation of tomatoes in greenhouse

Vittoria Catara is a plant pathologist, in her role as professor currently teaches molecular plant pathology and acts as International and Erasmus departmental coordinator. Since her PhD studies her research focuses mainly on plant associated bacteria. First studies focused on phytopathogenic bacteria and subsequently extended to biocontrol bacteria and the interaction in the microbiome. Main crops of interest are tomato and citrus. She is a fellow of Italian Phytopathological Society and of the Mediterranean Phytopathological Union. She is associated Editor of European Journal of Plant pathology and member of the Editorial board of Phytopathology.

Vlad Stoian

Department of Plant Culture – Microbiology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca, Romania

The use of microscopic tools for the increase of resolution in mycorrhizal assessment

My research interest is focused on microbial ecology and assemblage of microbial communities due to changes in their native environment. A special attention is provided to plant–microbe interactions, especially symbiotic associations which have a visible effect in plant growth promotion processes. An increased interest is in the topic of agricultural microbiology as a sustainable solution for long term in food production and resilience of agroecosystems, with the inclusion of microbial suppressiveness potential.
