I aim to improve understanding of molecular and ecological aspects of bacterial social behavior. During my PhD at New York University, USA, I explored bacterial gene regulation.
My postdoc at the Skirball Institute of Molecular Medicine (USA) enriched my insights into pathogen-host interactions. Currently, I’m a Microbiology Professor and Department Head at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. My team studies bacterial intra/interspecies interactions and interactions of beneficial bacteria with their hosts. Our aim is to design more efficient probiotics for plants and animals.
